Photo gallery is down due to ZenPhoto
The photo gallery has been removed from the site because I’ve been having problems with uploading photos. I’ve been using ZenPhoto for a long time and I’ve been very satisfy with the software. Last weekend, I borrowed my dad’s camera to use during the LSU-Ole Miss game because it was a better camera. For some reason, I was getting these errors when uploading the photos to the gallery.
PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in /home/xxx/public_html/gallery/zp-core/exif/exif.php on line 738.
The photos would display correctly when I delete the last three or four images and re-upload the ones that were deleted. Even if I use FTP to upload the photos, I would still get this error even the photos that were taken on my old camera. I’m tired of reinstalling and delete files and wasting hours of uploading photos that won’t display properly. I’m ditching ZenPhoto and going to Gallery2 currently downgrading back to version 1.2, hopefully this will solve the problem.
Expect the photo gallery to be back sometime tomorrow night (It’s Thanksgiving here in the United States and I’m not going to spend the day in front of computer, unless family members become a pain.)
UPDATE: Photo gallery is back online. I’ve went back to ZenPhoto after Gallery2 was too complicated for my tastes. I’ve concluded that the problems I’m having is that my photos are very large and the server can’t handle the load. The photos will eventually load when uploading for the first time. I will be moving to a dedicated server sometime next year.
